DRESSING DOWN: Diner’s Frocky Horror Show When Outfit Matches Tablecloth

This is the frocky horror moment when a guest at a posh restaurant realises that her chic 1970s-style dress is a dead ringer for the tablecloth.

The nightmare fashion faux pas emerged in phone footage from a family meal in Tianjin, northern China.

Ms Wang – who shot the video – had taken her aunt to the eaterie as a treat.

But it was not until she looked down at the table that she realised there was something very familiar about the tablecloth.

In the footage, it can be seen that her aunt’s dress and the cloth have exactly the same vintage ’70s-style red and blue abstract floral pattern.

As Ms Wang mentions it, her horrified aunt, who has not been named, lifts up the cloth to reveal it is a complete match.

Ms Wang burst out laughing and said: “I have seen a coincidence, but this is the first time I have seen such a coincidence. “

She went on: “My aunt was also confused. She lifted the tablecloth and looked at it, and found that, at least in terms of material, it was not as good as her clothes.”

Ms Wang shared the video on Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok – where netizens noted the situation appeared slightly embarrassing apart from being funny.

User ‘hilarious weirdo’ jokingly commented: “Restaurant waiter: Ma’am, go slowly and leave our tablecloth behind.”
