DRAG HUNT: Truck Brute Who Dragged Pup At 100kph Seized By Police

This shocking footage shows how a brutal pickup truck driver dragged a helpless pooch to its death at 100kph along a motorway.

The footage was filmed by another road user on the Medellin-Bogota highway near Marinilla, Colombia, early on 18th December.

The man filming can be heard saying: “I don’t know if you can see the puppy hanging from the car, it’s monstrous.

“The speed it’s going…almost 100 kilometres per hour. The puppy’s already dead.”

The harrowing video shows the dog – a five-year-old husky called Colonel – hanging from a door by what seems to be its lead.

It was shared online and quickly reached police in Colombia.

The Chevrolet pickup truck driver turned himself in around 24 hours after the incident, according to local media.

The driver presented himself to the authorities and said that it was an accident that happened while he was going to a farm located in eastern Antioquia, when the canine jumped and got entangled without him noticing. Bafflingly, the motorist – not named by police – is said to have blamed the dog for its own agonising death.

He said: “The puppy was my companion, he was taught to get into the car. It wasn’t the first time he came, and what happened was the puppy fell.

“Later on, when I realised, I didn’t know what to do. My world came crashing down. I didn’t know whether to lie down, start crying, it was very hard.”

The owner told police he has other pet dogs.

Prosecutors have now asked the Remington University Veterinary Forensic Unit to determine the cause of the dog’s death and if it had been abused previously.

A university spokesperson said: “We are going to perform an autopsy to see if we find surprises like physical abuse, poisoning, or neglect.”

If found guilty of animal abuse, the unnamed suspect could face between 12 and 36 months behind bars, a ban on working with animals, and a fine.
