DONE AND BUSTED: Cops Seize Dealers In Huge GBP 2m Drug Raid

A drug gang has been seized by police in Germany with more than 150 kilogrammes (331 lb) of narcotics worth around EUR 2 million (GBP 1.8 million).

One raid on a luxury apartment in Mulheim netted cash and jewellery worth EUR 500,000 (GBP 440,000), according to police.

Two handguns and commando knives were also confiscated in the raid, along with a huge collection of luxury watches.

The series of raids began in Lower Saxony on 21st December where three suspects were arrested and held in custody.

Officers then searched 13 other properties across the region including a former wartime bunker converted as a drugs warehouse.

One investigator was quoted by the Osnabrueck Police Department as saying: “We’ve stirred up a hornet’s nest.

“We’ve struck a big blow against organised drug crime.”

During the raid on 21st December police caught two suspects as they traded five kilogrammes (11 lb) of marijuana and 1.5 kilogrammes (3.3 lb) of hashish in Oberhausen.

A 33-year-old from Emsland and a 37-year-old from Oberhausen were arrested.

During subsequent searches, several drug depots were uncovered and a 48-year-old was seized.

In total, the investigators found 74 kilogrammes (163 lb) of amphetamine, 56 kilogrammes (123 lb) of marijuana, 30 kilogrammes (66 lb) of hashish, nine kilogrammes (20 lb) of tablets and three kilogrammes (seven lb) of cocaine.

Six suspects are facing drug charges while police continue to investigate.
