This is the shocking moment a huge dog makes a bloody mess of a small pooch in the middle of the street as desperate residents kick it, and even use a fire extinguisher to try and separate the animals.
The incident was filmed in the city of Voronezh in the western Russian region of Voronezh Oblast when the large Central Asian Shepherd Dog attacked a smaller pooch as it was being walked in the street.
In the footage filmed by a local resident, several people are heard screaming as the much larger dog apparently mauls another canine next to several pools of blood.
As the large Central Asian Shepherd Dog ‘goes for the jugular’, several onlookers try to separate them before a man approaches with a fire extinguisher.
The extinguisher makes the large dog let go of its rival, but it quickly latches onto its neck again as the poor animal yelps in pain.
Several onlookers repeatedly kick the Central Asian Shepherd Dog, but to no avail.
After a while, a woman appears to pull the large dog away by its neck before a man scoops up the smaller pooch and carries it away at head-height to protect it from further attack.
At the end of the video, the large dog, which does not appear to be wearing a collar, walks off.
According to the mauled dog’s owner Alisa, her pet is old and is at risk of not waking up from the anaesthetic while undergoing treatment.
Alisa posted a photo of her lying in a hospital bed after reportedly being bitten during the dog fight.
The local authorities have confirmed they are investigating the matter.
