This cute two-year-old girl has suffered serious facial injuries when she was attacked by a dog while walking on the street with her mum.

Valentina Gribaudo from the town of Rio Cuarto in the northern Argentine province of Cordoba shared the images of her toddler daughter’s shocking injuries on social media.

She said she was walking around the neighbourhood with the girl and her boyfriend when the dog attacked.

Gribaudo said: “My two-year-old daughter was walking on the pavement when a dog ran out of a nearby house and went straight for her, biting her face.

“My boyfriend managed to make it let go by kicking it. Afterwards, we frantically knocked on the door and the owner refused to see us even though she was at home.

“My daughter was taken to a clinic. That dog ruined her face. She needed stitches from her cheek to her jaw. She will need a lot of care for the next year.”

After the young victim was treated, the mother went back to the dog owner’s house with the police.

She said: “I returned with a police officer and the woman claimed that she was taking a bath at the time of the incident and that she did not believe her dog could have been responsible as it is never aggressive.

Gribaudo advised residents: “Do not let your dogs roam free because they can pose a threat. The lack of empathy from the dog owner today breaks my heart.”

It is unclear whether the local authorities are investigating the matter further.
