Dog Left With Hundreds Of Spikes In Face After Attacking Porcupine

This foolish pooch has been left with hundreds of spikes in its face after attacking a porcupine in Brazil.

The dog, named Thor, was found by its owner with hundreds of spikes covering its face in the municipality of Araras in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo on the morning of 20th February.

The three-year-old dog, for the second time in a year, was found with porcupine quills in its mouth, tongue, nose, neck and body parts.

The animal’s owner, unemployed man Adriano Bertoline, launched an online appeal as he could not afford to pay for veterinary treatment for his dog.

He wrote on social media: “Good morning, guys… I woke up this morning and I saw my dog like this… Please, any clinic or vet that can come to help him? I cannot pay.”

After councillor Dr Jose Roberto Apolari saw the dog owner’s request, he stepped in and agreed to help.

Adriano wrote on social media: “Dr Apolari was an angel in my dog’s life because I couldn’t afford to pay for a private veterinarian. I’m unemployed at the moment and I have four children to feed at home.”

Adriano said the councillor took the dog to the clinic, helped with the costs, and brought Thor home afterwards.

According to Thor’s owner, this is the second time the dog has been involved in a fight with a porcupine in one year.

In February 2021, the injured dog was helped by Adriano’s friend, who worked at a private veterinary clinic at the time.

It was not revealed what condition the porcupine was in after being attacked by the dog.
