Dog Found Covered In Tar And Almost Petrified Saved

Covered from head to foot in thick black tar this dog is still alive because other dogs barked to raise the alarm with local kids.

The youngsters called police when they were unable to pull the dog free and emergency services spent nine hours in order to rescue and then clean the trapped pooch.

The incident took place in Libertad, in the city of Merlo, in the Argentina capital Buenos Aires.

Police said the human dog named Aloe was exhausted when finally rescued by firefighters together with volunteers of the animal protection organisation Proyecto 4 Patas (Four Legs Project).

According to the animal protection organisation the dog “fell (or was thrown) in a tar well in an abandoned area in Libertad”.

They said its cries and whimpers attracted other dogs started barking, attracting local kids who are playing nearby. They called their parents, who in turn raise the alarm with cops and the animal protection group.rushed to help the dog.

According to the organisation, the rescue operation took around nine hours, 50 litres of oil, and a lot of soap together with many willing volunteers who washed the poor dog afterwards.

The dog was entirely covered in the tar which had started to set hard leaving the poor hound almost petrified.

The animal group said: “Aloe was stuck in the ground and petrified. One hundred percent of her body was hardened. Her mouth, eyes, ears, everything. We were shocked, we had never been in front of an animal in this conditions, but it was a time to get focused and use our will and love to get her out of this nightmare situation as soon as possible.”

The initial cleanup was taking place on the scene but the dog was then taken to a clinic for further treatment. Locals and other volunteers started of using oil bottles and soap in order to remove the tar.

The organisation added: “We were already informed about how to work, we had hours and hours in front of us of work. We gathered volunteers, we organised ourselves in teams, we bought litres and litres of oil and for nine hours non stop we cleaned the tar.”

The dog was finally cleaned totally and the picture of the results was also shared by the organisation.

They added: “And here you have Aloe, this is the day of her second birth, because there is not doubts she was born again.”

The story of Aloe has been widely praised by netizens, such as ‘Virginia Parra’ who said: “Thanks a lot for this big effort you have done, there are still people with a good heart.”

It is not mentioned if they have reported the case to police.
