These shocking images show the four-lb hairball doctors have removed from a young woman’s stomach after it was growing inside her and strangling her intestines.

The huge hairball was removed at the King Abdul Aziz Hospital in the city of Taif in the Mecca Province of western Saudi Arabia after the woman in her 20s had been complaining of excruciating pain for years.

Doctors could not find the cause of the pain and decided to undertake a serious clinical examination.

They spotted a strange object recoiled inside the woman’s abdomen which had formed a “strangling wall” in her intestines.

Abdul Hadi Al Rabae, s a spokesman for the Taif Health Department said the doctors decided an urgent intervention was needed and upon further exploration, they found the mass of interlocked hair which weighed two kilogrammes (4.4 lbs).

Al Rabae added: The mass was forming around the wall of the intestines inside the abdominal cavity and was increasingly growing in a medical rarity.”
