The pretty daughter of a former officer in Saddam Hussein’s army may have been butchered after genetic material found on a saw was matched to DNA samples taken from her family.

Iraqi national Sally Ali Challab Al-Abbood, 20, went missing in the north-western Turkish city of Eskisehir after leaving home to go for a coffee on Thursday, 2nd September.

Four suspects were subsequently arrested, including prime suspect Amjed Mohsin Mohammed, 28, who was apprehended in a house in the district of Gebze in north-western Turkey.

The three other detainees have been named as his brother Asaad MM, his friend Ammeer MM, ages not disclosed, and 32-year-old Sarhan SA, all of whom are accused of aiding and abetting the crime.

Neighbours of the prime suspect in the neighbourhood of Yenibaglar in Eskisehir told the police they had heard a woman screaming for around 30 seconds on the date the victim disappeared.

The police later concluded that the four suspects subsequently fled to the city of Istanbul, where they paid people smugglers to take them to Bulgaria illegally, but had not yet left.

In the prime suspect’s home, they also found genetic material on a saw, which matched DNA samples taken from the missing young woman’s family.

The police reviewed hours of CCTV footage and saw the prime suspect and the victim walking along the street together in Eskisehir.

They also saw the prime suspect had bought an axe, which he later exchanged for a saw, and a large plastic sheet from a hardware store.

The investigators also saw footage of him and the young woman entering his home, with the young woman failing to emerge at any point.

He was additionally spotted changing clothes several times on the night of the alleged crime and disposing of rubbish bags in several waste containers.

The presumed-dead woman is the daughter of Ali Challab Al-Abbood, 60, who served as a major in Saddam Hussein’s army until 2013, when he was wounded in the face by a bomb explosion.
