This disturbing video shows how a mum repeatedly kicks her young daughter, apparently to get revenge on her husband, who had been threatening to leave her.

According to the police investigation, the incident took place in an apartment in the city of Kazan in the Russian republic of Tatarstan on 1st December.

The 31-year-old woman, whose name has not been divulged, filmed herself as she kicked her own one-year-old daughter to the floor, apparently in a state of drunkenness.

The youngster has since been removed from her mother’s care and was being looked after by medical personnel at the time of reporting.

Her paternal grandmother has applied for custody of the youngster, and the authorities are considering her case, although they may simply choose to hand the child over to her father.

The father’s right to custody of his daughter has not been revoked, although his own mother has criticised him for not acting sooner to protect the girl.

The investigation is ongoing, and the case has reportedly been registered as ‘torture’.

According to local reports, the father, named solely as Alexander, wanted to leave his wife because of her constant drunkenness.

She is believed to have filmed the incriminating footage and sent it to him and his mother as a form of revenge because he had left her.

The footage reached the police, and officers arrived at the property to arrest the woman, where they found the child with several injuries, including concussion, abrasions and bruises.

According to the child’s grandmother, the mother had once threatened to throw the girl off the balcony.

During questioning, the mother reportedly confessed to her actions and expressed remorse, telling officers she was ready to face punishment.
