Distracted Dad Fails To Notice Baby Dangling Headfirst In Highchair

This is the moment a distracted dad fails to see his baby hanging out of the highchair and rescues the tot at the last moment after his young daughter points out the problem.

The incident was filmed in the city of Bengbu in the eastern Chinese province of Anhui on 4th March, and the footage has been widely circulated on the social network Douyin, also known as TikTok.

According to the news site Baidu, the Chinese couple, names not disclosed, were distracted getting ready that morning and failed to notice their baby about to fall from the highchair.

In the footage, the dad is seen stirring a small pot of food as he walks through the living room and does not see the baby lying horizontally in the highchair, apparently about to fall headfirst at any moment.

The baby’s sister sits on the living room table and gets her father’s attention. She points to the slumped baby and the dad rushes into the room and grabs the tot’s leg.

Meanwhile, the spooked mother comes into the room with her toothbrush in her mouth and signals that she nearly suffered a heart attack after seeing her baby about to fall from the highchair.

The father picks the baby up and comforts it as the video comes to an end.

The couple’s home city of Bengbu is known as ‘Oyster Wharf’ in Chinese, in reference to its past reputation as a freshwater pearl fishery.
