A stunned diner has found a cockroach in his food just one week after a huge dead frog was found in a salad in the same shopping centre in Buenos Aires.

The incident was shared on Twitter by netizen ‘Fafa Gari’ after dining at Ave Cesar in the Dot Baires shopping centre located in the eastern Argentine capital Buenos Aires.

Aware of last weeks’ incident involving the dead frog, Fafa Gari wrote: “First it was a frog in Green Eat (restaurant) and now there’s a cockroach in my dish at Ave Cesar in Dot Baires.”

According to the male customer, he spotted the cockroach under his piece of chicken after already starting the meal.

The angry diner complained to employees who offered to change his meal and give him a fizzy drink to calm him down, according to Fafa Gari.

He said: “I did not accept it because it was not a suitable apology for me. I don’t want to blame the workers, because it’s true they don’t have a protocol for these kinds of situations.

Fafa Gari said the company’s marketing department got in touch with him to offer his money back and explain that the shopping centre is carrying out fumigations soon.

Meanwhile, the Buenos Aires Consumer Defence group has advised the diner to report the incident to the local health authorities.

It is unclear whether they are investigating the incident yet.

Last week, a young couple found a large dead frog lying in the middle of the woman’s salad while dining at a popular health food chain in the same shopping centre.

The disgruntled diner said: “We found this disgusting frog in our food. This makes us doubt the quality checks this place claims to promote.

“The waiter was even more surprised than us. The situation was serious though, especially as children eat there too.”

Following the social media post, a spokesperson for the restaurant said: “We are all focused on understanding what happened. We have put ourselves in your shoes and an apology does not seem like much.

“All we can do is tell you that this has never happened in our nine years in business and that we are looking into the incident, we will continue investigating.”
