Diabetes Man Burns Wife Alive In Row Over Insulin Shot

A diabetes sufferer has been arrested for burning his wife to death after she refused to help him inject his insulin shot.

The shocking incident took place in the town of Mol in the northern Serbian district of North Banat when the 47-year-old victim, identified as Slavica Ludman, was allegedly set alight by her 58-year-old husband Karolj Ludman at their home.

According to local media, the suspect, who suffers with diabetes, asked him wife to help him with his insulin shot but she refused.

Reports said that the furious husband treated himself and then went outside to grab a filled petrol can which he then poured over his wife, setting her on fire.

The fireball also burned the man’s face and arms and he ran outside to douse himself with water, according to local media.

When he returned to the house, his wife’s entire body was reportedly consumed by flames and he attempted to put out the fire but to no avail.

Neighbours noticed the blaze and immediately called the fire brigade. Images show the damaged house.

The 58-year-old suspect is currently recovering from his burn injuries in hospital, but is said to be in a stable condition.

Reports said that he has been placed under arrest and is under police surveillance.

Meanwhile, his wife’s funeral has since taken place.
