DEER ME: Police Sergeant Saves Young Buck Deer Stuck In Fence

An Anne Arundel County police sergeant has been praised after saving a deer that was stuck in a fence.

The CCTV footage shows the moment police said Sgt. Matt Hall saved the deer after being flagged down by several people on Friendship Road near Kim Lane.

The locals had failed to free the deer and asked the police officer for assistance.

Anne Arundel County Police Department said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “On December 16, 2022, Sgt. Matt Hall was flagged down by several citizens while driving on Friendship Road near Kim Lane in south county. The citizens advised there was a deer stuck in a fence line. Sgt. Hall walked the fence where he discovered a young buck with his antlers intertwined in the fencing. “

Anne Arundel County Lt. Jacklyn Davis said: “Two citizens tried to free this deer at first and were unable to do so, and as you can see in the video, it’s like a metal fence, it’s almost like a pasture type fence and the young deer got his antlers stuck somehow through the fence.”
