Death Squad Breaks Into Bar Killing Five

Five people including a 12-year-old boy have been killed and 21 are seriously injured after a gang of at least 10 men burst into a bar in Mexico and opened fire on those insides.

The incident took place in a bar named ‘La Tipica’ in the neighbourhood of El Durazno in the city of Salamanca in the state of Guanajuato in central Mexico.

According to local media, a squad of between ten and fifteen armed men arrived at the establishment in two vans and went into the bar.

They then opened fire on the customers and staff inside, killing five and leaving 21 injured.

Reports state that one of the victims was a 20-year-old university student named Jorge Ivan Mendez Leyba who died during the attack alongside two more women who were not named.

The victims are reportedly a 12-year-old boy named Leandro and a 22-year-old man named Emmanuel who died while they were being helped by the emergency services

The attack was confirmed by the Secretary of the State Government Luis Ernesto Ayala Torres who wrote on Twitter: “Tonight in the bar ‘La Tipica’ in the avenue Faja de Oro in Salamanca there was an armed attack. Three dead people have been confirmed so far.”

The gang who attacked the bar have not been identified and the investigation is ongoing. No motive has been provided for the attack.
