A three-year-old boy was unharmed when he fell onto a busy road in heavy rain after his dad swerved to avoid a crash and the car door flew open.

The tense moment was captured by the dashcam of another vehicle travelling behind the car.

The incident took place on the ring road in the Osmangazi district of Bursa, Turkey, on an unspecified recent date.

In the footage, the driver, whose name was not reported, can be seen swerving to the right to avoid hitting the vehicle travelling in front of him on the wet tarmac.

However, as the car swerves, the right rear door flies open and the three-year-old boy can be seen tumbling out onto the busy main road.

The car filming grinds to a halt as, thankfully, the little lad gets up uninjured, although he can be seen crying from the shock as he walks along the tarmac.

His dad pulls over, as does another driver, who can be seen getting out of his vehicle, picking up the lad, and handing him over to his worried father as he rushes over to them.

The relieved dad then takes his son in his arms back to their car.
