Darknet Fan Jailed For Three And A Half Years After Travelling To The Philippines To 5exually Abuse Children

A dad and husband who is a fan of the darknet and who travelled to the Philippines to sexually abuse children has been jailed for three and a half years in the Austrian capital Vienna.

The defendant, who has not been named due to strict local privacy laws, told Judge Eva Brandstaetter that he had a fascination with pornography since his youth and that his appetites evolved from watching adult actors to more sinister fare on the Internet and the darknet.

It is on the darknet that the defendant, who is reportedly married with children, met an American who had set up a huge child sex ring in the Philippines and who had already spent 15 years in prison himself.

The defendant went to the Philippines and saw “live shows” featuring children, but when he was provided an underage girl, he reportedly refused to have sex with her because she started to cry.

Back in Vienna, he used special programs that added filters to his camera that would make him look like a teenager. When the police raided his home, they found over 600 items of child pornography.

The defendant, who reportedly works as a caretaker, was jailed for three and a half years by the regional court in Vienna on Tuesday 14th December. The man was also sent to an institution for ‘mentally abnormal’ lawbreakers after a psychiatric expert confirmed that he is a paedophile.
