This is the moment a dad unhappy about his son’s treatment punches a doctor in the face and then stamps on his head.

The attack happened at the People’s Hospital of Cenxi City, which is in China’s southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on 10th September.

A CCTV camera in paediatrician Doctor Zhong’s office shows him sitting across from a colleague who is busy treating a young girl accompanied by her mother.

Zhong’s patient, a four-year-old boy, is hooked up to an IV drip and sitting on a chair in front of him while his father, Mr Tan, holds the bag of intravenous fluids above his head.

The authorities said Mr Tan’s son was being treated for a stomach ache, but the dad was upset when the treatment did not appear to work right away.

Mr Tan and Doctor Zhong can be seen exchanging words in the security footage, with police saying the parent then accused the medic of providing his poorly son with ineffective treatment.

In the video, Mr Tan points his finger at the doctor, who in turn angrily slams his palm on his desk.

The parent responds by punching the doctor twice in the face, which knocks the medic off his wooden chair and onto the floor.

As frightened patients scurry out of the office, Mr Tan is seen repeatedly punching and even stomping on the medic, who manages to pick himself up as his colleague tries to break up the fight.

Doctor Zhong presumably dazes after the attack swings three punches at Mr Tan, missing all of them, while a nurse rushes in and carries the four-year-old boy away to safety, the clip shows.

The video ends as Mr Tan is subdued by a uniformed police officer.

The parent was found guilty of assault and given 15 days’ detention.

It is still unclear whether he faces further legal proceedings from the hospital or Doctor Zhong.

The authorities said Mr Tan “regretted” his actions.
