This is the moment an adorable young bear climbs up a rocky cliff face with skill and speed before peeking down at onlookers from the top.

The young bear was filmed from a vehicle by Dario Svagelj while he was driving on the road near the seaside municipality of Karlobag on the Adriatic coast in western Croatia.

In the video, the bear, the species of which is not clear, can be seen climbing up a sheer cliff next to a road.

The bear scrambles up the cliff face like an expert rock climber, grabbing on with its claws as it finds a route to the top.

As it reaches the top of the outcrop the animal turns and appears to look at the camera before disappearing from view.

Cameraman Svagelj said: “The bear was on the road but when we drove next to it, it got afraid and started to climb on the rock. When I stopped the car, it went up.

“We were very surprised. It’s lucky that we managed to film it. It was alone, there was nobody nearby, neither its mother nor other bear cubs.”

Netizen ‘Zdenko Marenic’ commented: “Beautiful.”
