This is the moment a senior Russian official is filmed showing off her dancing skills to a live band in a scene reminiscent of Uma Thurman and John Travolta in Pulp Fiction.

The Director of the Information and the Press Service Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), Maria Zakharova, 44, was filmed dancing with colleague Evgheny Voronin at a corporate party.

In the video, the pair can be seen dancing along to some live rock ‘n’ roll being performed by a live band.

The video was posted today (Friday) with the caption “The official representative and the alternate of the official representative are opening the corporate party for the Department of the Information and the Press Service Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Work hard, play hard!”

An anonymous netizen commented on the video: ‘We don’t have a corporate party – no money. We could hardly gather money for the salaries, but you may continue dancing’.

Another anonymous netizen wrote: ‘Pulp fiction episode – this is what they’re inspired by!’.

Zakharova once admitted that she dances “regardless of the international situation”.

Thurman and Travolta famously dance together to Chuck Berry’s ‘You Never Can Tell’ in the 1994 hit Pulp Fiction directed by Quentin Tarantino.
