This is the moment an Italian top-flight team announce the signing of former Cardiff City midfielder Gary Medel – nicknamed ‘Pit Bull’ – by placing the tough man next to an adorable poodle.

Serie A side Bologna located in the city of the same name in northern Italy recently signed former Cardiff defensive midfielder Gary Medel, commonly known as ‘Pit Bull’.

The video shows a small brown poodle sitting on a chair while music usually associated with babies and children plays.

The camera moves its focus to the right of the poodle to show Medel staring closely at the dog as the music shifts to heavy metal.

After a few seconds of staring at the dog, the poodle yelps as Medel continues to stare motionlessly.

Towards the end of the video, a caption comes on screen that reads: “Neither the poodle nor the pit bull suffered mistreatment in the making of this video.” Medel can then be seen playing with the cute poodle.

Medel, 32, signed with Bologna on Thursday after playing for Turkish giants Besiktas for two seasons. He played for Cardiff for one season in 2013-14 but left for Inter Milan after they were relegated from the Premier League, making 35 appearances in total.

Medel has scored seven goals and had 125 appearances with the Chilean national team, most recently in the 2019 CONMEBOL Copa America in Brazil.

Chile played Argentina in the third-place playoff but lost 2-1 in a match that saw Medel and Lionel Messi both receive red cards for an altercation between the two.
