A 14-year-old cyclist was dragged under a drink driver’s car after swerving to dodge a frail pensioner crossing the road.

CCTV footage of the drama shows the teen falling off his bike and disappearing under the wheels of a Fiat Idea.

As the teen’s arms and legs can be seen thrashing around under the car, the driver seems oblivious to what has happened until passersby force him to stop.

Police in Ipatinga, south-eastern Brazil, later found he was so drunk he could barely stand and confiscated his car and his licence.

Earlier in the footage, the cyclist is shown swerving to avoid an elderly pedestrian crossing the road.

As he misses the senior, he wobbles and is dragged under the wheels of the drink driver’s car.

According to the police report, the driver did not get out of his car to check up on the lad and simply drove off afterwards.

The cops tracked him down via his car number plate and asked him why he failed to provide help, to which he replied that he had seen the teenager was fine.

When the police caught up with him, he had reddened eyes, alcohol breath and walked with a stagger.

He refused to take a breathalyser test, prompting the cops to arrest him and take him to the local police station.

While at the police station, he was reportedly unable to even stand up. He reportedly admitted to having drunk alcohol.

Astonishingly, the teenager – treated by paramedics and hospital emergency doctors – survived with scratches all over his body but no serious injuries.
