CRUSH HOUR: Killer Car Carnage as It Speeds Along Pavement

This is the terrifying moment a speeding car careers onto the pavement, instantly smashing everything in front of it, leaving one dead and two badly injured.

The incident happened in the city of Hangzhou, in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang, on 24th March.

In the video, a few cars can be seen parked on the street, while several motorbikes are on the pavement.

A man is seen relaxing on a chair on the pavement as well, and he has no time to get out of the way before a speeding white car suddenly ploughs into him, grinding to a halt a short distance later.

One victim can be seen trying to stand up in the wake of the carnage, while apparently shocked passersby approach the scene of the accident.

The shocking footage shows that the car was going so fast, it even felled a tree as it crashed into it.

Local man Mr Jiang, the owner of the restaurant outside which the accident happened, told local media: “In front of the door of the store, there was a man who rented a place near here, who has been working as a chef. We were chatting for a while.

“Suddenly, I heard a ‘bang’. The sound was so loud that I thought it was an explosion. When I looked back, the tree in front of the store had been knocked down, and the chef who had been sitting was lying on the ground. Not far away, there was a white car with its hazard lights on.

“Several electric motorbikes parked in front of the store and my electric trike were both damaged, two cars were severely damaged. A delivery man was pressed under an electric motorbike.”

One person has been confirmed as dead, while two others were injured. They were sent to hospital for further treatment. Their current state of health was not divulged.

The police identified the driver of the vehicle as Ning Moumou, 44, and he was immediately arrested.

The investigation is ongoing.
