This video shows a cruel care worker kicking and slapping a 93-year-old woman before throwing her onto a sofa because she ‘disturbed her rest’ when she fell over.

The abuse captured on homeowner Ms Xing’s surveillance camera shows carer Ms Zhou, 39, mistreating her client’s elderly mother on 20th October.

Ms Xing live in the Xinghualing Residential District in Taiyuan, capital of North China’s Shanxi, and said she hired Ms Zhou as a care worker in August.

The footage shows the 93-year-old having accidentally rolled off a sofa and fallen onto the tile floor when the apparently impatient Ms Zhou kicks her in the head.

The woman then bends over and slaps Ms Xing’s elderly mother on the face before proceeding to force her up.

Ms Zhou lifts the pensioner and flings her back onto the sofa as the video ends, leaving viewers on social media labelling the carer ‘cruel’ and a ‘nightmare’.

Ms Xing said she discovered the abuse by chance when checking her home surveillance footage.

She rushed home from work to confront the carer, and brought the police with her.

A spokesman for the local police said: “The pensioner had complained to her daughter before, saying her carer bullies her.

“But her family did not believe her because they thought she was just old and suffering from dementia.

“Her daughter found out by chance when viewing the live footage.”

Ms Zhou, who was arrested in Ms Xing’s home, told investigators she lashed out at the pensioner that day because she refused to eat or sleep, and was disturbing her own resting hours.

Ms Zhou was fined 500 RMB (55 GBP) and jailed for 15 days.

Ms Xing, who has dismissed the carer, did not reveal whether she planned to take further legal action against her.
