CROCODILE TEARS: Compassionate Croc Returns Drowned Boy’s Body

This is the astonishing moment when a crocodile returns the unmarked body of a drowned four-year-old boy to his family.

Startling footage from the Mahakam River, in Borneo, Indonesia, shows the giant croc swimming through the water carrying the youngster on its back.

The boy – named in local media as Muhammad Ziyad Wijaya – had reportedly died when he fell into the river two days earlier.

Baffled fishermen spotted the 10ft long croc as it swam nearly 700ft across the estuary bay towards a boat.

The reptile – normally one of nature’s most ruthless killers – dropped the body by a boat, where two men are seen pulling the boy’s body aboard.

Local media reports there were no bite marks on the boy’s body.

Head of the East Kalimantan Search and Rescue Agency, Melkanius Kotta said: “We think the crocodile actually aided in the search for the victim.

“Nothing is missing. Everything is intact.”

An unnamed bystander filmed the incredible moment as the two men inside the boat quickly took over the dead child.

It is now yet known what caused Muhammad to drown or if the estuary’s crocodiles had anything to do with his death.

Initial observations allegedly show that the little boy was not a victim of the giant reptile, but rather accidentally fell into the river while playing.

After the footage gained widespread online attention, many netizens speculated that the crocodile intentionally delivered Muhammad due to compassion and instinct.
