There was even a ‘Sambo’ tournament staged between Russian and Belarusian teams.

Sambo is a Soviet martial art and combat sport developed shortly after the Russian Revolution of 1917.

However, several cows that were dressed up in Soviet Army regalia, including scarves, military hats and raincoats, caused outrage at the fair, according to local media.

Many attendees reportedly took to social media to bemoan the use of military symbols and Soviet nostalgia on the exhibited livestock.

In the photos, one black and white cow is seen wearing a Soviet military hat and jacket while another appears to have been dressed in an army raincoat complete with a wig on top of its head.

Netizen ‘Mihail Ivanov’ commented: “This is not patriotism, it is pure idiocy.”

‘Santa Cruz’ said: “Whoever came up with his idea should have horns stuck on their heads!”

‘Andrei Petrov’ added: “Vile, I’m ashamed to be Russian.”
