This is the moment a cowboy and his trusted steed take a tumble during a show at a packed restaurant, leading netizens to condemn the incident for animal cruelty.

The video clip was posted by the Twitter account Colombia Oscura (Dark Colombia).

According to the Twitter account, the incident took place at the Hacienda Las Margaritas (Las Margaritas Ranch) in the Colombian capital, Bogota.

The clip shows how a cowboy rides a horse in the middle of the covered outdoor restaurant apparently to entertain diners, who are seen in extremely close proximity to the animal.

The horse is then seen taking a backward tumble and landing on its rider atop a fully-laid table before both fall to the ground, sending diners scattering.

Carnage is then seen breaking out in the restaurant, with the agitated horse galloping around as it knocks over wooden chairs and scatters tables.

The clip of the incident has since been viewed 154,100 times and attracted strong reactions from netizens.

Twitter user ‘Elmandelpueblo’ commented: “Although many won’t see it like this, abuse isn’t just hitting an animal, it’s forcing it to be in a different environment to the one it belongs in. I can’t begin to imagine the ‘punishment’ they gave the animal after this.”

Twitter user ‘Tanaiiiluj’ said: “Who gets the idea of doing this kind of show in a closed space? The horse got frightened.”

It is unclear if there were any serious injuries sustained in the incident or if authorities are investigating it.
