In another video, the vehicle is seen back on its four wheels while being towed to the riverbank by a lorry.

According to local media, the villagers managed to pull the van out off the water and also prevented the cow from drowning.

The van driver managed to get out of the vehicle unaided and was not injured during the incident, according to reports.

However, despite saving the animal, local media said that the cow suffered a broken leg and will have to be put down.

The van driver was reportedly attempting to cross the river when he was surprised by a deluge that overturned the van and started to drag it through the water.
