This is the moment a man with coronavirus symptoms is arrested after he reportedly escaped from an ambulance while he was being transferred to a hospital.

The arrest took place at a petrol station in the neighbourhood of Constitucion in the city of Buenos Aires in the province with the same name in north-eastern Argentina.

According to local media, the man, whose name has not been reported, escaped from an ambulance when he was being transferred with a high temperature and other COVID-19 symptoms to the Muniz Hospital in the Argentine capital.

In the video, the man can be seen walking in the streets and talking on his mobile phone after his alleged escape

The man, who is seen wearing a face mask, walks onto a petrol station forecourt where he is intercepted by police officers who had been called by the hospital staff.

The police officers keep a safe distance away while the suspect is forced to stand with hands up against a van.

An ambulance is then seen at the scene with three people in full protective gear standing in front of it. Reports said the man was arrested and transferred to the Muniz Hospital in an ambulance.

It is unclear if local authorities will take legal action against him.
