As the man was not answering phone calls and did not open the door, the police officers called in paramedics and firefighters to the scene.

ABC report the firefighters broke into the home and found the man dead, with a doctor confirming he died of natural causes.

Estefania Beltran de Heredia, the local Councillor of Safety, had explained on Friday that the new outbreak was focused around people working in the hotel industry, with a customer in a hotel bar in Eskoriatza being seen as “patient zero” of the new outbreak.
