These pictures show a German couple getting married in face masks at a drive-in cinema while isolated wedding guests look on from the safety of their cars, reportedly beeping their horns in celebration.

The wedding was one of there carried out at the drive-in cinema in the city of Dusseldorf in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on 5th May.

As the country starts lifting the lockdown introduced in March to prevent the spread of COVID-19, social distancing measures are still being respected by residents.

Meanwhile, the head of the German disease control centre warned that there could be a second wave of COVID-19 infections, but that the country was well prepared to handle it.
