This is the moment a couple, who thought they heard a moth, find a boa constrictor wrapped around their bedroom window blinds.

The couple got a fright when they found the snake in their house in the municipality of Vilhena, in the northern Brazilian state of Rondonia, on 28th October.

Mara Pereira Arrigo told local media she was at home with her husband, Jose Carlos Arrigo, when she heard a noise coming from the window blinds.

At first, they thought it was a moth, but when they went to check, they then suspected it was a butterfly, as only the reptile’s head was exposed.

However, on closer inspection, they realised it was a snake, prompting Mara to “nearly have a heart attack”.

In the video, Jose is seen trying to prize the boa away from the blind using a squeegee, as his wife narrates the situation, occasionally shrieking with fear.

She said: “People, living on a farm is good, but these things happen. A snake inside the house. I’m terrified of snakes.”

After the huge boa fell onto the bedroom floor, Jose managed to capture it and later release it into a wood near the couple’s house.

Mara later uploaded the video to social media. She told local media: “Now I laugh, but at the time I was terrified.”
