A couple has been found dead on their neighbour’s terrace after they reportedly fell off a balcony while they were having sex after a house party.

The incident took place in the Carapungo neighbourhood in the north of Quito the capital of Ecuador after a house party.

Calderon Police District Operations Chief Cristhian Trujillo told local reporters the couple had thrown a party with friends at home. The female victim, who has not been named but was 28, had reportedly thrown the party as she was about to graduate.

After the party, the couple were reportedly having sex on their third-floor balcony when they fell.

According to local media, the dead bodies of the couple were found by a neighbour in her terrace who seconds before had heard an unusual noise and had gone out to see what was happening.

Reports state the couple were found without clothing, and they fell from the third floor of their building onto the terrace of the house next door.

The unnamed man was approximately 35 years and a relative of the female victim told reporters that the deceased woman was the mother of an eight-year-old girl who did not know what had happened to her mother.

Local authorities launched an investigation to determine how the accident happened, and they also found a pair of shoes and clothes that belonged to the deceased woman.

The investigation is ongoing.
