This is the shocking moment a corner shop customer mercilessly punches and slaps a female employee after she asked the client to pick up her litter.

The brawl took place at a Hi-Life corner shop branch in Sanchong District in North Taiwan’s New Taipei City on 9th June.

CCTV footage from the business shows the middle-aged customer shouting at the uniformed staff member and pointing her finger in the young woman’s face.

The shopkeeper attempts to brush the screaming woman’s hand away and appears to slap her on the shoulder, which triggers a violent reaction from the customer.

The video shows the customer launching into a two-minute attack which includes pulling the shopkeeper’s hair and punching her in the head and face.

During the one-sided contest, the shopkeeper ends up on the floor and attempts to defend herself by kicking out, but she is overpowered by the stronger customer every time.

When the brawl ends after two rounds, with a brief pause between proceedings, the woman sits back down at a table as witnesses separate them.

Reports said the woman had purchased food at the corner shop and eaten it at the table, but she lost her temper when the shopkeeper reminded her to pick up her litter.

Both women have filed assault charges against one another.

Further investigations are ongoing.
