This is the moment a puss takes a catty swipe at the way its housemate cockatiel waddles along.

The playful moggie was caught on video by its owner – not named in local media – at their home in the southern Chinese province of Guangdong.

The owner told local media that she was bewildered by her cat’s behaviour and could not help but laugh at the way the puss seemed to be copying her pet bird.

In the video, the cat appears to follow the bird’s distinctive waddle as it walks free in the family home.

And the tiny bird seems to be stunned by the cat’s actions as it stops mid-walk and looks utterly baffled.

Their owner later shared the video on Douyin, the Chinese version of TikTok, which brought a whole lot of laughter to netizens after watching the furry taunter.

User ‘Smoke cage Chang’an’ jokingly remarked: “Why is this cat so bird-like?” with an added ‘crying laughing’ emoji.

And user ‘Jiaojiao learns to wear’ admittingly wrote: “This cat is not ordinary.”

Many others agreed that the cat was getting a cheap laugh for insulting the bird’s walking.
