This is the moment an angry mob strips a woman topless and parades her through town with a sign saying “I am a thief, know who I am” as cops do nothing to intervene.
The incident took place near the city of Puno in the south-eastern Peruvian region of the same name after the unnamed woman was accused by people in the angry mob of stealing 1,500 PEN (361 GBP) from a street vendor.
In the footage posted on Facebook and viewed 50,000 times, the suspect is seen being stripped by members of a large angry mob as several cops look on.
The sobbing woman is then forced to hold a cardboard sign before being paraded through the town’s streets topless.

The sign said: “I am a thief, know who I am”.
According to local media, the police officers escorted the woman during her ‘walk of shame’, but did nothing to stop the woman from being stripped and beaten by angry community members.
Reports said the woman was taken to the police station after the filmed community justice where she will be quizzed about the alleged theft of 1,500 PEN (361 GBP) from a street vendor.
The investigation is ongoing.
