Six Mexican cops are under investigation for leaking this footage – which made international headlines – showing a 46-year-old man describing in gruesome detail how he allegedly killed his beautiful 25-year-old girlfriend.

The killing took place last week in an apartment in the municipality of Gustavo A. Madero in the Mexican capital Mexico City in the state of Mexico.

Erick Francisco Robledo, 46, reportedly told cops he murdered his young lover, identified as Ingrid Escamilla Vargas, 25, before skinning and dismembering her corpse and flushing some of the parts like her intestines down the toilet.

Reports said neighbours called the Citizen Safety Secretary (SSC) when they saw the man coming out of the building where he lived covered in blood.

The footage shows Erik Francisco in a car with his head bandages and blood on his chest while he reportedly talks to a policeman.

In the clip he says: “We started to argue and we fought. She said she wanted to kill me and I said do it.”

He added: “She took a knife and I said do it at once. She stabbed me once and I said do it stronger. And she tried two more times”

When he is asked why he dismembered the woman’s dead body he answered: “I did not want anyone to know.”

He added: “I used the same knife she attacked me with to stab her in her throat. I threw pieces of her dead body to the drainage system because I felt ashamed.”

According to local media, six policemen involved in the case are being investigated for leaking the video of Robledo confessing how he killed the victim along with other sensitive information on the internet.

Maria Fabiola Alanis of the Mexican Government Office for Social and Political Equality told local media: “Leaking those images criminalise the victim and that hurts. Those actions have to be punished.”

Alanis added: “Only 3 percent of cases go to court and only a 1 percent ends with a sentence.”

The unnamed six officers under investigation are reportedly still on active duty.

Gender violence prosecutor Nelly Montealegre said the case is being treated as a femicide as the victim had a relationship with her alleged killer.

Ingrid Escamilla reportedly filed a complaint against her partner in July 2019 before dropping the charges.

Reports said that Ingrid Escamilla was buried on Tuesday in the municipality of Juan Galindo in Puebla.

The 25-year-old girl described herself on social media as a girl who likes adventures, pets and nature.
