Security camera footage shows how the first young man enters the store wearing a red jumpsuit and a Salvador Dali mask like in the hit Spanish TV series ‘Money Heist’.

He is seen pulling out a toy gun and putting it to the back of the head of a young worker, giving her an obvious fright and causing her to shake in panic.

Meanwhile, his friends are seen entering the store dressed as a pirate and another Money Heist robber respectively while a young woman films them from behind on her mobile phone.

After giving everyone a fright, the group, who reportedly work in a store next to the supermarket, revealed it was all just a joke.

They then went to fetch some alcoholic beverages from the back of the store, which they paid for before leaving.

According to information obtained by the police, the group was on their way to a fancy dress party at the time.

However, the pranksters apparently failed to have the last laugh, as the footage subsequently went viral in WhatsApp groups and eventually got passed on to the media and then the police.

The police told news outlet Banda B that they are working to ascertain the identities of the pranksters and charge them with ‘apologia ao crime’ (‘condoning criminal activity’).

‘Money Heist’ tells the story of two long-prepared heists at the Royal Mint of Spain and Bank of Spain respectively from the perspective of one of the robbers.
