This image shows the sight which greeted German cops when they pulled over a tiny smart car and found it packed with everything from a sunshade to a cooler box with the possibility of blocking the pedals and windscreen.

The 52-year-old Smart car driver from Lithuania, who has not been named in reports, was stopped by police at a motorway service station along the A9 motorway in Hof, a town located on the banks of the Saale in the north-eastern corner of the German state of Bavaria.

Police found that the driver’s view out of the car was severely blocked due to the sheer amount of items packed into the Smart car.

The car had items packed into the driver’s footwell including a cooler box, a car battery and a sunshade which could hinder the driver from being able to safely reach the pedals.

The passenger seat was piled up to the ceiling with household items which were not secured in the car and items were also placed in front of the windscreen.

Further investigation showed the car did not have a valid registration and the driver was also unable to produce a driving licence.

Police banned the driver form continuing his journey and he now faces multiple charges including offences against the German vehicle-admission-ordinance as well as other transport laws. Investigations will be carried out to see whether the man has a valid driving license.
