Cops Find 70kg Of Weed Stuffed Inside Digger Cog

This is the moment Colombian cops drill open a cog from a mechanical digger to reveal it had been stuffed with 70 kilogrammes of cannabis.

Local media report airport police noticed there was something unusual in the cog when they scanned it at the Ernesto Cortissoz international airport in the city of Barranquilla in the Atlantico department of northern Colombia.

The cog was reportedly was the tourist island Saint Andrew in the Caribbean Sea which is the largest island in the Colombian department San Andres, Providencia and Santa Catalina.

In the video, cops can be seen working to open the cog with a mechanical saw and when they prise it open it is stuffed with cannabis.

According to local authorities, 70 kilogrammes were hidden inside the cog and it took the cops at the anti-narcotic checkpoint in the Colombian airport several hours to cut it open.

Local police general Ricardo Alarcon told local media: “The process to confirm that there were drugs inside lasted about four hours. We had to use special machinery and some drills. That’s how we managed to seize the marihuana.”

The police have reportedly launched an investigation to identify the drug trafficking network behind the discovery.

Alarcon added: “Once we seize the drugs, what we do is trace the companies, the people who send it and others so that the investigation continues.”
