Cops have arrested this glamorous trans woman dubbed ‘Catwoman’, who is believed to be the lover of several drug kingpins, for dozens of crimes including the mugging of a cop who solicited her for prostitution.

Officers from the Delegacia de Repressao a Entorpecentes (Narcotics Enforcement Bureau) arrested trans woman Luana Rabello at her home in the neighbourhood of Iraja in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, 21st October.

News of the arrest was reported in local media on Sunday, 31st October.

Dubbed ‘Mulher-Gato’ (‘Catwoman’), the trans woman, whose age was not reported, is accused of 24 thefts and robberies.

Local media including O Dia reported that she was romantically involved with criminal gang members including at least three drug kingpins in the Complexo da Mare, a grouping of several favelas in the North Zone of the city.

According to chief investigator Marcus Vinicius Amin, Rabello was banished from the Complexo da Mare by the wife of a drug kingpin who discovered her husband’s infidelity with the trans woman.

Rabello flaunted her life of luxury including speedboat trips, holidays, expensive clothes, plastic surgery and partying in nightclubs to her 30,000 Twitter followers and her over 20,000 Instagram followers.

Cops say her lifestyle was funded by her drug lord clients.

The police believe that information on her mobile phone will help in their investigation into drug trafficking in the Complexo da Mare.

The trans woman is accused of committing several thefts and robberies, with a police officer being the victim of one such alleged crime in March.

According to information reported in O Dia and G1, the officer in question is believed to have paid Rabello BRL 50 (GBP 6.49) and another trans woman BRL 30 (GBP 3.89) for a sexual service.

During the unspecified act in his vehicle, one of the trans women is believed to have put a knife to his neck while the other stole his work pistol and other personal effects.

In other alleged crimes, the police say her modus operandi was to approach men and ask for hugs before pushing them against a wall and stealing their belongings.

According to O Dia, during her arrest, she asked officers if she would be taken to a men’s prison, commenting: “I want to get out of there married.”
