The police have busted nearly 60 people having a sex orgy in a rented holiday home across the street from a hospital where COVID patients are being treated.
The incident took place in the locality of Saint-Mard in the municipality of Virton in the southern Belgian province of Luxembourg in the Wallonia region when numerous locals alerted the authorities to a party going on in a house across the street from the Edmond-Jacques Clinic, the local Virton hospital.
The owner of the house, who has not been named, told the Belgian news source RTBF that the house had been rented out for the weekend to a family of four people and that its maximum capacity was eight guests.
However, according to Belgian newspaper SudInfo, responding officers discovered at least 56 people engaging in sexual activity on the premises.
They reportedly determined that the evening was a giant sex orgy, that people had paid to attend, and that it was also set up to celebrate the birthday of a female French participant.
The police intervention took place at about 3am on Sunday because they first had to obtain permission from the magistrate to intervene.
On the premises, there was reportedly laughing gas being used, an alcohol buffet, and escort girls.
Participants were fined EUR 250 (GBP 226) on the spot, with the total amount of fines believed to be about EUR 12,500 (GBP 11,315). The local prosecution is expected to bring charges.
Ironically, EUR 250 is also the amount they paid to attend the evening, according to local newspaper La Meuse.
Furthermore, the party took place just across from a local hospital on Harnoncourt Street where people are being treated for COVID-19.
Francois Culot, mayor of Virton, told RTBF that he was “furious”. Wallonia currently has a partial lockdown in place along with a curfew.
This is not the first sex party that the authorities have busted in Belgium in the last month. On 27th November, the police made international headlines when they raided an orgy that led to the resignation of European Member of Parliament Jozsef Szajer.
