This is the moment a cop in full riot gear sat in a moving car shoots at a pregnant teenager with a paintball gun in the middle of the street.

The incident occurred in the Castanares neighbourhood in the province of Salta in north-western Argentina and was recorded by an onlooker.

Local media report the police officers had been in the area after receiving a call saying there were around 10 people consuming drugs.

Reports suggest the cops had arrested a minor who had been out buying a fizzy drink and the woman in the video is the minor’s brother.

In the video, the pregnant girl, 17, in a pink hooded jacket can be seen speaking to the officers who are sat in the back of a pickup truck.

The vehicle is driving away as one of the officers suddenly opens fire with an air-powered paintball gun, aiming at the woman as onlookers scream.

Police have been known to use paintball guns loaded with paint projectiles to mark particular rioters so that police can easily identify and arrest them later

After the shooting the officers on foot then sprint away behind the pickup truck and a youngster can be seen throwing stones at them.

Local media say the teenager, who is reportedly 24 weeks pregnant, was injured in the incident and taken to a local hospital.

Valeria Benitez, the injured teen’s mother, said: “I am not against the police, that should be clear, there are good police officers.”

She says the injured 17-year-old had been protesting the innocence of her brother who had been arrested.

An investigation has been launched into the incident and the pregnant teenager has been discharged from hospital.
