This is the moment a Russian policeman pours a bottle of Jack Daniels into his car engine’s anti-freeze tank because “he can afford to”.

The bizarre video was reportedly recorded in the city of Novosibirk, in the Novosibirsk Oblast region in southern Russia before it was posted on social media where it was widely shared by netizens.

In the clip, an unnamed police officer can be seen opening a bottle of Jack Daniels bourbon before he empties it into a car’s tank.

Onlookers can be heard giggling and the cop says: “I wanted to leave it for New Year’s eve but the job is of the highest importance.

“What can I do since I have no anti-freeze left…And you know what – I can afford it myself, I’m working in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.”

The cop then gets into the car and turns on the windscreen wipers joking that he likes the “posh smell” of the bourbon as a coolant.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs hinted the video could be a Christmas joke with the bottle not actually containing alcohol but it is unclear if this is true.

It is unclear if an investigation has been launched but some netizens have called for one.
