Cop In Borats Homeland Of Kazakhstan Named Bill Clinton Dreams Of Becoming Head Of State And Meeting Namesake

A police officer in Borat’s homeland of Kazakhstan who is called Bill Clinton says he dreams of becoming head of state one day and meeting his namesake.

Billklinton Osipov is 26 years old and while his friends call him ‘Bill’ for short, his mother is reportedly very proud of her police officer son, whom she named after the 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton, 75.

The police officer, who works as a district police inspector in the Medeu district, which is located in the city of Almaty, the former capital of the country and its largest city, said that some teachers at school would find his name strange.

He said: “Sometimes, during my school years, my teachers would not understand, they would ask again, the girls would laugh, but the boys would not laugh.”

Billklinton, who is married and has a daughter with his unnamed wife, whom he calls his “First Lady”, says that his dream is to become the head of state and meet his namesake, but if that does not work out, he would be quite content mastering the saxophone.

The unusual name did take some people some getting used to at his job as a police officer. Yernar Aytenov, a senior district police officer in the Medeu district, said that when his colleague introduced himself by name, he did not immediately believe him and asked him to repeat it more than once.
