This is the moment a police officer apparently embarrasses his teenage daughter by picking her up from school dressed up as Batman and pretending to “arrest” her for being Harley Quinn.

Military Police officer Jonas do Araguaia de Paula, 44, has gone viral after being filmed picking up his 16-year-old daughter Rebeca de Paula at her school in the Vila Canaa area of the city of Goiania in the central-western Brazilian state of Goias.

In the video, which has received over 1.75 million views online, father Jonas can be seen walking outside the school with his teenage daughter.

The dad is dressed from head-to-toe as Batman while his daughter is apparently embarrassed at her father’s getup.

She smiles and tries to cover her face as her dad walks with his hand on her shoulder.

The police officer told local media that he had decided to dress up as Batman to attend a party at his four-year-old son Caleb’s school as a surprise.

He said: “On the Friday there was going to be a party for Children’s Day at my son’s school. I spoke to the headmistress to know if there was going to be a superhero at the party and she said ‘no’. I had the idea and she thought it was really cool so I went to rent a costume.”

After the party, he then went to pick up his daughter from her school in full costume and he said: “I was waiting at the entrance to see her reaction. When she saw me she ran back inside the school from embarrassment. I ran after her and called her ‘Harley Quinn’, who is the Joker’s girlfriend.

“I joked that she was ‘arrested’. Someone filmed that moment and uploaded it to the internet.”

He added he likes to make the most of every moment with his children “to guarantee their safety, and so that she knows she has a father who is present in her life, and so Caleb also knows he has a father who is present in his life.”
