Cocaine Dealer Busted After Butt Dialing Cops While Asleep Who Turned Up To Check If Snoring Man Was OK

Cops who received a telephone call but could only hear snoring on the other end were shocked when they decided to check up on the caller to make sure he was okay and discovered cannabis, cocaine and other drugs in his apartment.

The incident took place in the town of Gummersbach, which is in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, in western Germany, when the police received a call on their emergency number.

But when they answered the late-night call to the Oberbergischer Kreis district police station, all they could hear was snoring and moaning.

Concerned for the caller, the police decided to check up on him, and so they drove to the address.

They “completely surprised” a 21-year-old who opened the door to the police officers and who found that his 23-year-old friend had fallen asleep on the sofa on top of his mobile phone, and had apparently activated the phone’s emergency call function.

Police found the 23 are still asleep on the sofa and totally confused about the fact that officers were suddenly standing in front of him.

He denied having called the emergency number until he checked his mobile phone and realised he had dialled the number several times after lying on top of the device.

Unfortunately for him, police noticed a strong smell of cannabis, according to local German media outlet the Frankfurter Neue Presse. They also reportedly found ecstasy tablets, amphetamines and cocaine, as well as some electronic scales and cash in the apartment.

The suspects, who have not been named due to local privacy laws, were arrested on suspicion of dealing drugs.

A police spokesman said: “The amount that they had in their possession makes it clear that it was not only for personal use.”
