Coast Guard Continues With Disaster Relief Activities

This footage shows Turkish Coast Guard handing out disaster relief packages among citizens in the earthquake-affected province of Hatay.

The video, which was obtained by Newsflash from the Turkish Coast Guard Command, shows emergency crews passing around aid packages among the people living in evacuation camps.

Supplies such as drinking water and many other basic living materials were handed out.

One kind Coast Guard member, in particular, can be seen giving a small child fruit juice and it drinks from a straw while the man is holding the box.

The Turkish Coast Guard Command said in a short statement obtained by Newsflash: “Our disaster relief activities continue uninterruptedly.”

A 7.7 and a 7.6-magnitude earthquake struck Turkey in the early morning hours of 6th February.

Hatay is one of the 10 Turkish provinces where the earthquakes’ were mostly felt.

As per the latest update by the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency , 36,187 have died and 108,068 are injured in Turkey.

Along with more than 5,814 casualties in Syria, more than 42,000 people are confirmed dead.
