Club Mourns Death Of Young Footballer, 20, Turned Model

A 20-year-old footballer turned model who was in a relationship with stunning Spanish influencer Lola Ortiz has died for no apparent reason.

The young man Ojeda Suarez, 20, who played for the Spanish football team UD Las Palmas from the Gran Canary islands, was revealed to have died of unknown causes last Saturday (24th April).

The young footballer had played alongside Barcelona FC’s 18-year old rising star midfielder Pedro Gonzalez Lopez before dropping out of to take a break and work as a model.

It was Suarez’s old club UD Las Palmas that made his death public in a statement on their official Twitter account saying: “It pains us greatly to announce the death of Ojeda Suarez who played for our youth club during the 2017/18 and 2018/19 season.”

They added: “Our thoughts and prayer are with his family and friends.”

Local news outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that Suarez was taking a break from football and was working on breaking into the fashion industry as a model.

Suarez’s girlfriend Lola Ortiz, 31, began her journey towards fame when she participated in the Spanish dating show ‘Mujeres y Hombres y Viceversa’.

Since then she has accumulated 756,000 followers on Instagram who she keeps entertained with a steady stream of bikini snaps taken on various stunning Spanish beaches.

The Instagram famous model who was born in Gran Canarias, Spain, is yet to react publicly to her boyfriend’s death.

Lola’s followers have already started sending her their condolences on Instagram commenting on past pictures of the couple.

‘kiliannhdz99’ commented on a picture posted by Suarez holding Lola captioned ‘Thank you for making me so happy: “Rest in peace brother, never stopping shinning the way you always do when you smile. Thank you for the magical moments on and off the pitch”.

‘kiaaritagomez’ commented on the same photo saying: “I’m in shock. I have no words. I can’t imagine how broken Lola feels right now.”

It is still unclear what led to the 20-year-olds death but UD Las Palmas have promised to keep their followers updated when new information comes to light.
