It is a brush with death that might shake even the strongest nerves as an out of control car careers towards a barbershop.

But astonishing CCTV footage of the cool-headed owner shows he barely turned a hair as the vehicle came to a crunching halt just centimetres from him.

Footage shows he did not even get up from his sofa where he had been checking his phone until the car had stopped before he apparently realises how close he had come to the final cut.

The incident happened in the city of Quanzhou in the south-eastern Chinese coastal province of Fujian on Sunday, 27th March.

In the CCTV footage, the man can be seen sitting on a sofa and looking at his mobile phone, when suddenly, a white car crashes into the shop, right next to him.

The man, who is allegedly also the owner of the barbershop, is stunned for a while, apparently trying to figure out what happened, and after shouting “Scared to death!”, he walks up to a desk and lifts a tilting fish tank back onto the table.

The video gained a lot of comments on Douyin, such as a netizen going by ‘Villager’, who joked: “What are you thinking about, get in the car. Isn’t it obvious that I have come to pick you up?”

While ‘Work hard to create the future!’ wrote: “Boss, a haircut please.”

And ‘Zhicheng’ said: “You should open the door to the passenger and say: Glad to serve you!”

The reason for the crash was not revealed and it was also not revealed if there were any injuries.
